Clarke & Jay Chartered Surveyors was founded in 2013 by Dominic Jay and Cameron Clarke. Having both had long careers in residential and commercial surveying they felt the time was right to provide good quality personalised expert advice that corporate organisations seemed unable to provide.
MEET OUR TEAM
Dominic Jay BSc (Hons) MRICS Principal Director
Dominic has had a long career in surveying, having had management roles in both the commercial and residential sectors. With a varied background, including enforcement work for dangerous buildings, project management and building Surveying on complex buildings, Dominic now leads the team at Clarke & Jay Surveyors.
“I have always had a passion for buildings and how they work. I am now lucky enough to work on some of our most interesting and historically important properties in the region.”
Chris Pennell AssocRICS Director of Residential Surveying
As an experienced and knowledgeable Surveyor, Chris is a key part of our leadership team. As well as undertaking Level 3 surveys, residential valuations and a range of other surveying services, Chris provides advice and support to the team to ensure we consistently maintain the highest professional standards.
“I’m passionate about providing a quality service for our clients and have a genuine interest in all aspects of property.”
In his spare time Chris enjoys spending time with his young family, long walks with the dog, and cooking roast dinners on a Sunday.
Cameron Clarke FRICS Consultant
Having had a long and varied career in the property sector Cameron decided to concentrate on residential building surveying. He has worked in the corporate sector and regional practices and joined forces with Dominic Jay to create Clarke and Jay Surveyors in 2013.
Cameron is now a consultant and continues to provide an excellent level of service that comes with experience. Cameron enjoys working with historic buildings and is a member of SPAB.
When not working Cameron can be found on the golf course or motor homing and now spends more time with his expanding family.
Jamie Jay MRICS FAAV Senior Surveyor & Head of Rural Services
Jamie joined the team in 2025 after four years in the North of England advising private clients on a variety of rural property matters.
Graduating from Harper Adams University in 2020, Jamie is now a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
With a professional and personable approach to business, Jamie is well placed to advise clients on a range of rural issues, including Estate / Property Management, Landlord and Tenant matters, Planning and Development and advise on a range of Valuation work.
Growing up on a farm in rural Worcestershire and having worked on several local farms in the Worcestershire region, Jamie spends his spare time enjoying the outdoors and rural pursuits.
Hazel Bamford BA (Hons) PGDip Surv MRICS Surveyor
Hazel qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2011 having started her career as a trainee in Local Authority building control in 2005. She has extensive experience and has worked in both the commercial and residential property sectors. She now specialises in residential surveying undertaking home surveys and providing valuation advice.
“Having enjoyed every role I have worked in during my career, undertaking residential surveys for individuals has given me the most job satisfaction, knowing I play an important and pivotal role in my clients home buying journey."
Whilst not working and running around after her three boys, she can be found running over the Malvern Hills with Pippy the Cocker Spaniel!
Caroline Monk MRICS Surveyor
Caroline qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2005.
Having worked in both commercial and residential property sectors in London and the West Midlands, Caroline specialises in residential surveying, defect analysis and providing listed building and conservation advice.
Luke Stephens AssocRICS ACABE Surveyor
Luke has developed his passion for buildings from his experience in the construction industry. His background in traditional craftsmanship and hands on historic building work inform his development as a surveying professional. This practical background underpins his approach today, combining technical understanding with a respect for traditional materials, construction methods and repair principles.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys travelling in his campervan and spending time outdoors with family, often on his bike tackling downhill trails.
Zoe Jay Administration & Marketing Manager
Zoe has worked in the property sector for over ten years. Her time in estate agency provided invaluable experience in property administration, sales, letting and client liaison.
She now works as part of the Clarke & Jay admin team and prides herself in providing a high level of customer service. The role includes administration, organisation of instructed surveys and supporting the surveyors. Zoe has also taken on a marketing role alongside her administrative duties.
“I have always had a passion for everything property, from interior styling and design to property renovation. I love working within the property industry, having renovated properties myself I find it extremely interesting and learn something new everyday!
In any spare time left after looking after her twin boys, Zoe can be found renovating her house, interior styling and shopping for homeware!
Kim Sparkes Administration & Accounts
Kim has had a varied career including helping to run the family grounds maintenance company. Having opted for the indoor life she has worked in the retail sector and admin roles for a number of organisations. Kim has also worked in the charity sector for Age UK.
Kim has been part of the Clarke & Jay team for several years looking after back office functions, diary management, sales and making tea!

In her spare time, when she is not looking after her Granddaughter and the office dog Archie, Kim enjoys travel and short breaks to her caravan in Wales.
Chloe Ashby Administration
Chloe is part of our busy Sales and Administration Team, supporting clients, partners and our own team of surveyors. She brings experience in sales and client service assisting with the essential day-to-day running of our efficient and quality focused service. Chloe has great people skills and enjoys keeping things well-organised, which means we can efficiently respond to any queries relating to our diverse range of services with friendly, helpful and informative advice.
Outside of work, Chloe is a proud mum to two little girls who keep her on her toes. In her spare time, she enjoys trips to the cinema and has a growing collection of characteristic 50 pence coins!
Georgina Coley Administration
Georgina has over 7 years of property related experience having worked in estate agency and lettings. She now applies her knowledge and organisational skills supporting clients, partners and our own team of surveyors.
Alongside her role, Georgina is also studying for a degree in Building Surveying, adding technical expertise to develop her own surveying career and provide advice to clients.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé, her dog Alfie, and her family.
Sarah Howell Administration
Sarah has many years of experience in property related matters, having previously worked at a respected high street law firm.
She specialised in Agricultural and Rural Affairs and brings her professional expertise to her role at Clarke & Jay Surveyors.
With strong organisational and communication skills, she contributes to the efficient running of our admin function, supporting both clients and colleagues.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys travelling and exploring new places.
Archie Office Dog
Archie is an important part of the team. He Keeps the office happy and calm.
Archie is the Office Dog who brings a lot of experience to the role! “I enjoy all of the attention and biscuits.”
In his spare time Archie enjoys being taken for long walks, chasing squirrels and eating.
